We have new neighbors. While the kids are taking a nap I am baking cookies for us to take to them to say hello! We've been watching out the window (very Gladys Kravitz-esque) and I think they are "hopefuls". My friend Johanna taught me that word in college. A "hopeful" is someone that you see out and about (or spying through the window) and think to yourself. "She/he/they are fun...I hope one day we can be friends!" (I'm glad Jo picked me as a hopeful TEN (are you kidding me...it's been that long?!) years ago at our freshmen dorm!)
My neighbor at home still talks about the day my mom, me (5) and Bart (less than a year) came walking down the street with cookies to welcome her to the neighborhood. She can remember it like it was yesterday and can't believe that I now have kids of my own. Wow time flies!

I'm definitely glad you were a "hopeful" and that my scary stalker ways didn't scare you off. I can't believe its been 10 years either. Where does the time go?
So nice of you to take them cookies!
