I'm Prepared.

I wouldn't consider myself one of those "always prepared moms".  I'm usually the one borrowing the diaper/wipes/snack/sippy...you fill in the blank (even though I probably have one of each under the seat in my car right now-that doesn't really count).

I'd like to call it "laid back", but it really is just lazy.  My second grade teacher told my mom once..."Sally is sweet and very smart, but she sho' is lazy!"

Well my little man is going through his first surgery tomorrow and while I still may be lazy about some things (I'm sure JB could come up with a few!), watch out Mrs. D. Williams, 'cause this is MY BABY!  He is having tubes put in (again) and his tonsils and adenoids removed.  I did my homework (blogs, friends, relatives of friends, random strangers) and the reccuring theme was "We made it through, but I just wasn't prepared AT ALL."  I can see why you wouldn't feel prepared...because before the surgery you know NOTHING!  I have FULL confidence in my ENT, and all I heard from him was, "Justin (he never calls him Jay) will have a sore throat for a few weeks." Three reasons you can't really blame the doc for this simplistic statement:  #1 He's a man. #2 He's NOT a mom. #3 After the surgery he's not home with you for the next 10 days...or even 10 minutes for that matter.

After creating a long list from my "interviews" of MOMS I didn't just pick a few, I have taken EVERY suggestion.  I am prepared for the WORST.

Fun mag and book for ME (so I don't fret during the surgery hour)  CHECK!
Brick-breaker Game for JB (so he doesn't fret during the surgery hour) CHECK!
