My dad was here this weekend for Easter. It was a beautiful weekend and we spent most of it outside.
For the most part, the weekend was drama free. However, we kept having "incidents" with Betsy and cups. She likes to do what Jay is doing and I know we are probably fussing with her about this often, but for some reason because Dad was around the whole argument just seemed ridiculous. As always, John Rosemond has a "common sense" fix. After all, who wants to ruin a nice meal over sippie drama!
"And while I’m on the subject of sippy-cups, here’s a radical notion: Instead of giving your child everything but water to drink, make water the norm. Beginning around age two, introduce open-topped plastic or paper cups with about an inch of water in the bottom. Believe me, a two-year-old will master the art of drinking from a topless, spoutless container within a couple of weeks. And so what if he spills? It’s water! When the child masters one inch of water, increase it to an inch and a half. And so on. By age three, the child will be drinking full cups of life’s most necessary compound without incident."
