Our favorite book lately is Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends. I am so thrilled that we are up to books that start conversations and inspire thoughts (in my kids and in us!). My favorite poem in there is The Search.
I went to find the pot of gold
That's waiting where the rainbow ends.
I searched and searched and searched and searched
And searched and searched, and then---
There it was, deep in the grass, under an old and twisty bough.
It's mine, it's mine, it's mine at last...
What do I search for now?

I love that book! My favorite (and it was also the favorite of every third grade class I ever taught) is "Sick"!
