Every day is an adventure...

After finishing my April book.  I learned two things.  My kids don't appreciate how good they have it, (heck, I don't appreciate how good I have it) and it's the little personal things in life that are most memorable.

Since it has been so nice this week our days consist of get home...go outside...eat...go for a walk...bath...bed.  We have found that our backyard is full of life and adventure.

1.  We are trapping and moving squirrels to "Mexico". (We let them out behind San Jose.)  We've caught four.

2.  Our bluebirds have babies.  JB saved one that had fallen out of the nest.  (BTW, after that he said, "I'm trapping and moving squirrels...saving baby birds...I think I'm turning into a dang hippie.")  Momma bird is happy though.  She's so comfortable with us we can sit nearby and watch/hear them being fed.

3.  We have two hoppy toads that are best friends that we like to look for near the fence.

4.  Peter "wabbit" found Mr. McGregor's Brown's garden.  We gave him some celery, but he didn't eat it.  I think he was in shock because two toddlers were taking a BIG interest in him.  "If I just stay still, maybe they won't think I am real."  (See him in the corner.)

5.  Stop and smell the Jasmine.

6.  We've been cutting flowers from the Knock Out for inside.  (Every time I look at those roses I start singing "Mama said knock you out..." in my head.  Does anyone else do that?)

7.  A box can be so MANY things.

8.  Fires (and smores) aren't just for winter!
