If you are like me, you have a whole bunch of really great children's Bible books. They have a very short Bible story and then a small prayer. It's not really practical to sit and read one story after the next. It doesn't give you any time to absorb each message. And at bedtime when we pick "one book" other books seem to trump these...
So...we have been leaving one of these at the kitchen table and reading a page each morning with breakfast. It fills my spirit that the first interaction of our day is reading a Bible lesson and saying a prayer. I have been thrilled at how much they are absorbing and how each day they look forward to a new story.

One of my most precious memories grownng up was having my mom read us a devotion over breakfast before we went to school...I can't wait to start the same tradition with Ruth Ann.
